Pray for the Persecuted Church

Hundreds of millions of Christians around the world experience high levels of persecution. On average, eight Christians are killed each day for their faith.

Morning Star News has been reporting on violence against Christians in Nigeria committed by Muslim Fulani herdsman. 37 Christians have been killed in the month of August alone.

Last April a Nigerian pastor named Matthew was shot and butchered by Muslim extremists. Open Doors tells how his widow, Rose, who was pregnant at the time of Matthew’s murder and has since given birth to a daughter named Patience, struggles to provide for her three young daughters in the midst of COVID-19 lockdowns and food shortages.

Open Doors’ World Watch List 2020, an annual report on global persecution of Christians, indicates there were 447 verified incidents of violence and hate crimes against Christians in India during the list’s reporting period. India is number 10 on the list of the top 50 countries where Christians are persecuted for their faith.
