Clear skies. Warm. Breezy. West-southwest wind around 9 mph. I set out from the parking area on the San Dieguito River Trail (parallel to Mission Road) and headed east.

Notes

  • Profuse mustard blooms.
  • The white flowers of California Cudweed pair well with the vibrant yellow of mustard.
  • Lots of Italian thistle
  • Heard another vocal Black-headed Grosbeak in a tree. Didn’t have my binoculars so I couldn’t get a good look.
  • Large patches of Deerweed along Del Dios Highway.
