Clear skies. Warm. Breezy. West-southwest wind around 9 mph. I set out from the parking area on the San Dieguito River Trail (parallel to Mission Road) and headed east.

Notes

Profuse mustard blooms.
The white flowers of California Cudweed pair well with the vibrant yellow of mustard.
Lots of Italian thistle
Heard another vocal Black-headed Grosbeak in a tree. Didn’t have my binoculars so I couldn’t get a good look.
Large patches of Deerweed along Del Dios Highway.
