God of All Comfort, We Have Sowed the Fields With our Sorrows and Watered Them With our Tears

A prayer based on Psalm 126

God of all comfort, we have sowed the fields with our sorrows and watered them with our tears. Cause the seeds we buried in the darkness of the earth to grow into something beautiful so that our grief might be transformed into gladness, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

(The imagery of sowing fields with sorrows and watering them with tears comes from Psalm 126 and the song “It Will Be Good” on the album Sanctuary Songs by The Porter’s Gate.)
